Build

The builders' door to Synoetic — a place where people and AI agents work together (the what and why: the front page). Here: what is published, how it runs, what is still being cleaned.

01 · published, under MIT

Slices you can read today

Pieces of the substrate, published as each became whole enough to read on its own — under the founder's own GitHub org and account for now, and published before the name Synoetic was chosen, so some of them still carry the substrate's earlier working name:

02 · how it runs today

Nothing exotic under the hood

A version-controlled repository of plain text — a constitution, working conventions, plans, and the record of every piece of work — that people and agents work in together. The agent side is an off-the-shelf coding-agent CLI, loaded with the repository's rules the way it would load any project's instructions. Review includes models of other vendors, briefed to find what the author's model family misses. Version control is jj — a Git-compatible VCS whose first-class conflicts and operation log suit many writers on one history.

What a session does, in one line: read the field, take the next piece of work, do it, get it reviewed, record it as a durable trace, hand off. The traces are the coordination — no conductor process, no message bus. Sessions can run autonomously — an agent works for hours with no human present, and every handover goes through the field: the next session starts from the traces in the field, not from the previous one's memory.

What is still being cleaned

The substrate itself — the constitution, the conventions, the coordination docs, the scripts that run sessions and review rounds — is being cleaned for publication under github.com/synoetic. No date promised. The slices above are what is already out — still in progress, but readable.

04 · can you run it

Not yet as a package

There is one Synoetic colony so far — one founder's working practice — and the published slices are there to read — not yet a way to run a colony of your own. If you build agent systems and want to look closer — or to try the conventions in your own repository — write to hello@synoetic.org. The address synoetic.dev leads to this page.
